WATER PROOFING

We make sure that every roof we build has proper decking, drip edge, ice and water shield and roofing felt underlayment to ensure nothing is left unprotected. Proper decking is needed when the old decking has been compromised through years of weather that has penetrated down into the substrate. We ensure first and foremost that the new build begins with fresh decking, unless the original decking is in perfect condition and can live another 30 years, we'll want to refresh the decking to hold the new roof. The drip edge will act as a barrier to keep water from penetrating underneath the roofing material and behind the gutter system. Ice and water shield provides an additional level of protection around all points of entry; around chimneys, vents and pipes it is extremely important that ice and water shield is installed correctly and diligently. Finally the synthetic underlayment or roofing felt which acts as the cover all vapor barrier will be installed to surpass code. Once the roof is completely sealed and water proofed, the final build out with your chosen roofing material can be installed.
